Veteran actor, Pete Edochie has cried out on how the Islamic Movement of Nigeria has threatened him because of his participation in a just-concluded movie.
Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie has expressed that IMN reported him to the Inspector general of police saying that the movie “Fatal Arrogance” in which he starred in portrays the Islamic group in a bad light and they have threatened him over it.
The veteran actor made this known in an interview with Sahara Reporters on Monday.
Talking about the threat Pete said “I was part of a movie that was done few days ago. Two days after we ended shooting that film, I got calls from people all over the country referring me to Whatsapp.
“I checked and saw that the IMN, according to what I read, had notified the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) that Pete Edochie and the Nigerian government, with some actors from the north, had done a production that was intended to ridicule and misrepresent them.
“One claimed the government gave money to Pete Edochie to exculpate them from what they did in Zaria years ago. I’m moved to comment on this… I don’t understand what IMN is driving at.”
He said the IG wanted to see the copy of the movie but the movie is not in circulation yet.
Pete further said all grievances should be directed towards the movie producer because he is only an actor and that he won’t run away from his fatherland because some set of people wants things to be done their way.
